Responsible Use Policy
Effective date: May 19, 2026
Version: 1.0
Purpose
BLESPlo.it is a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) security evaluation tool developed to support defensive security research. It is made available to enable reproducibility of security evaluations and to assist researchers, developers, and device owners in identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in their own BLE implementations.
Authorized Use Only
You may only use this app to test devices that you own or for which you have received explicit permission from the owner. Scanning, probing, or interacting with BLE devices without authorization may violate local laws, including but not limited to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA, United States), the Computer Misuse Act (United Kingdom), and equivalent legislation in your jurisdiction.
By using this app, you confirm that:
- You own the device(s) being tested, or have obtained explicit permission from the device owner prior to testing
- You will not use this app to intercept, manipulate, or disrupt devices belonging to others
- You will not use findings from this app to exploit, damage, or gain unauthorized access to any system
- You accept full legal and ethical responsibility for how you use this tool
Safety and Health Warning
BLE testing may affect the behavior of nearby devices. Do not use this app on or near medical devices, safety-critical systems, or any device whose disruption could create a risk of injury, health harm, property damage, or loss of safety control.
Examples include pacemakers, insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors, hearing aids, smart locks, alarm systems, industrial controls, batteries, solar systems, and vehicle-related devices. When in doubt, do not test.
Intended Users
This app is intended for:
- Security researchers performing defensive BLE audits
- Firmware and hardware developers validating the security of their own products
- Device owners who want to understand the BLE exposure of their personal devices
- Academic and professional researchers reproducing published security evaluations
It is not intended for unauthorized surveillance, tracking individuals, taking control, disrupting, or any offensive use against third-party devices or infrastructure.
Responsible Disclosure
If your testing reveals a security vulnerability in a third-party product, we encourage responsible disclosure directly to the affected vendor before publishing any findings. Many manufacturers operate coordinated vulnerability disclosure (CVD) programs for this purpose.
No Warranty for Misuse
The app is provided in good faith as a research and defensive testing tool. The developers accept no liability for damages, legal consequences, or harm arising from use that exceeds the boundaries of authorized testing described in this policy.
